Wow, Beatriz, this is the “best ever analysis” of how cowardly and clueless Dem strategists are mishandling immigration issues. Sadly, according to Politico, the arrogant “powers that be” have no intention of heeding your warnings nor are they going to take your advice. Somehow, they believe that attacking and disrespecting their heretofore loyal base, blaming the GOP, and hoping that this “Miller Lite” nonsense will appeal to “independents” will be the key to success in Nov.
How many independents do you know of who donated faithfully to Dem campaigns, manned phone banks, rang doorbells, worked to get folks to the polls, etc.? I didn’t notice very many the last time around.
But,I know many folks in the human rights community who “busted tail” for Biden and other Dem candidates. Few plan to do the same this time around in light of the party’s betrayal of core constituencies.
It seems to me that the folks in charge of Biden and Dem strategy are working overtime to “de-energize” their progressive base and to insure Trump’s election. Sad to think that’s what it might take to get Dems to finally act on the values they (falsely) proclaim to get elected “the first time around.”
Sure wish we could get you on the “talking heads!” But, the media insists on falsely portraying this as a debate between “cruel and stupid” (Dems) and “crueler and dumber” (GOP). Not surprisingly, that’s a vile conversation that many in the progressive base would like to “tune out” just as we and our values have been “tuned out” by Dem politicos!
